  • Wednesdays throughout the year from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm; in July and August we meet from 9:00 a.m. - noon; and

  • The second and fourth Thursday evenings of each month from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm.

All fibre arts are welcome at all times!

You are invited to come see if you'd like to become a member!  Your first two meetings are free.

CGFA offers its members the opportunity to take advantage of:
  • Classes, trunk shows and demonstrations
  • Presentations by fibre arts specialists
  • Community Initiatives (formerly charity programs)
  • Displays of members' projects
  • Needlework, including knitting, cross stitch and embroidery
  • Quilting projects including mystery quilts and block of the month
  • Knitting, crocheting, embroidery, bobbin lace making and tatting
  • Rug hooking in the traditional Maritime style

The CGFA has a number of objectives including:
  • To provide knowledge and education of fibre arts for members
  • To preserve fibre arts skills and to encourage their modern application
  • To provide opportunities to donate to the community

  • To share guild resources
  • To gather funds to achieve these goals
Are you considering joining the CGFA? Do you:
  • Enjoy meeting with others who share a love for fibre arts?
  • Do you value learning new fibre arts techniques?
  • Do you value contributing to your community?
  • Do you enjoy displays of members' projects?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, we hope you will consider joining CGFA. To find out more, send us an email at cgfa@ymail.com.

"Fan Dance", hooked by Mary MacTavish, was designed by Fritz Mitnick.    Colour Planning by Lynne Howard as she taught this class at the Western McGowan Teachers' Workshop in Eugene, Oregon in 2019.  The technique for dying the wool is from Beatrice Christoff's 1986 book "Hooked on Transcolour Swatches".

Both Mary MacTavish and Lynne Howard are Lifetime Members of the Guild.

Mary shared this rug in the February 12, 2021 CGFA Update Newsletter.

The "Fan Dance" pattern can be purchased though Honey Bee Hive website.
