We're back!

and following the new "restrictions exemption program" rules!


As per the Alberta of Government's new restrictions

and exemptions effective September 16, 2021,

we will be hosting meetings at the hall using the

Restriction Exemption Program "REP".


If you wish to attend a meeting you must:

- provide proof of vaccination upon signing in 

- wear a mask in the hall

Chinook Guild of Fibre Arts ("CGFA")

is a Calgary-based guild in fibre arts including quilting, rug hooking, and needlework


We meet at

Rosscarrock Community Centre

4411 - 10 Avenue S.W.

the following days / times:

  • Mondays: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm except provincially recognized holidays and July and August.
  • Wednesdays throughout the year from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm; in July and August we meet from 9:00 a.m. to noon; and 
  • the second and fourth (think 2-4) Thursday evenings of each month from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

All fibre arts are welcome at all times!


You are invited to come see if you'd like to become a member!  Your first two meetings are free.


CGFA offers its members the opportunity to take advantage of:
  • Classes, trunk shows and demonstrations
  • Presentations by fibre arts specialists
  • Community Initiatives (formerly charity programs)
  • Displays of members' projects
  • Needlework, including knitting, cross stitch and embroidery
  • Quilting projects including mystery quilts and block of the month
  • Knitting, crocheting, embroidery, bobbin lace making and tatting
  • Rug hooking in the traditional Maritime style
  • Classes and workshops in all disciplines
The CGFA has a number of objectives including:
  • To provide knowledge and education of fibre arts for members
  • To preserve fibre arts skills and to encourage their modern application
  • To provide opportunities to donate to the community
  • To facilitate the exhibition of members' achievements in fibre arts
  • To share guild resources
  • To gather funds to achieve these goals
